1. Social change and control:
Every society is in no way positioned. It is always through a progressive and dynamic way. The place where personality of a child can be developed is society or societal environment. The old traditions, customs are preserved and transmitted with the situations, which are ever changing. For a better world we should not believe or follow wrong beliefs and values. With the aid of science and technology education can help us to create a better world.

Education is not just passing your exams and getting good marks. After gradautation education is not over because education is a life-long process. Just going to high school is not getting education. Life is education and education is life. A man’s life is full of experiences by which he/she get expertise on some work. One cannot live with his past experiences which are unable to adjust in the society as world is changing time by time. As we know the constant thing in this world is change, we should be able to adjust with it. So education helps the individual, society and nation to restructure their experience and know-how as well as adjust with the environment.
3. Development of social and moral value:
Tension and narrowism are the other name for a society for people. Today there is no social or moral value. Human beings are behaving and treating others like an animal. White faced people hate black and black faced people white. However, such animalistic nature can be converted with the help of moral education. Education educates the moral value and social value such as co-operation, lenience, compassion, feelings, love affection, respect towards senior, helping the poor as well as needy persons.
4. Providing opportunity or equality:
Every country in this country has focused on education and expend almost one third of the budget on education. They know the power of education. United nation has introduced the term “equality” because all people in this world are not getting the facility of because of economic conditions and old values and beliefs. Education guides us to give equal opportunities to all irrespective of background, belief, color, gender and their religious conviction.
Functions of education towards nation:
1. Inculcation of public and social accountability- Education helps young generation to understand their rights. It will not only make demand for right but also remainder for their duties and responsibilities. With such people having great responsibilities can easily help to develop their nation.
2. Leadership training- When a person participates in training, seminars, and meetings then it will help to share knowledge as well as gain knowledge from others. With this it will create leadership capability and skills. Such leadership skills can be developed with education.
3. Integrated nation – As we know every county is different from another and every society is different from others. Education plays an important role where it plays as a tool for integration among people, society and country. Education can be taken as a tool for unification. Educational integration can lead to expressive integration. Education makes people perfect for unity, not for locality. With the help of education the term ‘Democracy’ was brought over dictatorship. In democracy every person can share his/her ideas in order to develop a country. Education serves the most important end of educating the man.
4. Tool for national development- Education can be a tool for national development by changing perception, beliefs of people. It can bring a total change within a society and country.
Therefore, education should be for all and it is the only means by which people can kill their animality from them. Man is man because of education.
